this is the best place. Whenever we go Amsterdam and need a room on short notice for a night or two you can always count on Mevlana to have a room for you at a reasonable price and there are always some characters there! A nice cafe on the ground floor with seating outside open till late. MEVLANAAA

Before going we read that the stairs were scary and they WERE. They were very very steep but that’s normal for Amsterdam. Getting suitcase down the stairs was kind of hard. It isn’t an atmosphere to meet people and there isn’t really a place to hangout. The hot water in our room didn’t work and the bathroom was so small my knees were touching the door (and it’s a shared bathroom with the floor). There was no soap in the bathrooms either. The WiFi didn’t work AT ALL. However, it was was a good location, and the beds were pretty comfortable compared to other hostels I’ve stayed in. The room was clean and we felt safe and got our own lockers in our room.

I can't beleive its not 2 star! 2 for the price of 1: Sauna-bedroom whombo combo. Amsterdam can get pretty chilly and Hotel Mevlana knows just the trick! Non-stop heating, great for drying socks (if you packed them wet!) but not great for if you wanna sleep. However, if you recently completed an intensive gym session, I like to say there's no better place for a detox. The room itself has character, and is truly unpretentious as claimed. Cozy, good chance to get to know other guests both through words and their feet dangling down upon your forehead at 4am. The beds are comfortable and perfect if you want to hold hands or perhaps look toes with your neighbour. Decour: interactive and inspired. Check behind the paintings for a little surprise! The colour of the room ranges from cream to a vivid green (almost an assualt on your senses) but somehow they make it work. There is a window that opens. This is important. International experience: The TV is in Polish and doesn't really work, but thats okay, clearly an incentive to get out and explore the city - thanks MEVLANAAA! If the window is not opened (and even when it is) you'll never quite forget Mevlana's distinct musk (like the feeling of your face being crushed into nonna's bosom as she embraces you in a warm hug, enveloping all your senes as you walk up the stairs and open the door). The reception staff know how to have a good time and will always keep you on your toes (rascals), there's a cafe downstairs that I didn't try but have heard at least one good thing about. Hotel Mevlana - home.

I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.. Staircases are so narrow that I am surprised how it passed the safety concern test. This building have 4 floors & getting down or up from 1st floor to 4th floor is nightmare..! I was about to fall almost everytime I used staircase. Rooms are so tiny that it won't be sufficient for 1 person, whilst they have put 5 beds in single room.! So it is like living in rat box.Overall not good.! Definitely won't recommend this to anyone.. ! Ever..!!
