Frankendael is Amsterdam’s only remaining 17th-century country estate. The romantic park has two historic gardens - a period garden and a landscape garden – as well as a sunbathing area and marsh. In the middle of the park is the imposing Huize Frankendael ('Frankendael House') where cultural events are regularly organized. Also in the park are the unique restaurants Merkelbach (in the former coach house) and De Kas (in a propagation house from 1926). 7-acre park on a former estate featuring a 17th-century home & 2 restaurants in historic buildings.

Lovely park, seemed quite safe with lots of dog walkers when we went in the early evening. Great restaurant.

One of my favorite parks in Amsterdam. It’s a beautiful park with many open spaces. It’s not too big or crowded like the ones in the center of the city. Check out Huize Frankendael just next to it which is a beautiful old monumental house that houses a nice restaurant.

Beautiful city park, featuring a collection of beautiful allotments, a water bird pool and reeds, a manor house and restaurant. The children’s play area is supervised by a nesting crane on top of a disused chimney. Park also features children’s own gardens, a project which allows primary school children a chance to grow their own plants.

Lovely place for a little bit of everything. You can BBQ here or do you occasional sports. It has an open park for BBQ and football games but also forest tracks for runners.
