I’ve stayed here twice now — once for Amsterdam Pride and again for New Years (so good I came back)! It’s a lovely hostel ran by some great people! Both times I stayed in the five-bed “hipster” dorm. Fairly priced and comfy. It’s a hostel... you’re going to have the hostel experience (sometimes noisy, snoring roommates). Bring some headphones and blast some white noise when you need some sleep. Always an interesting crowd in the kitchen / common area to share a meal or a drink with. The common refrain you hear is “I spent way more time hanging out at the hostel than I thought I would.” On my most recent stay there was a “family dinner” one night in the dining area for 5 euro. Super tasty! On New Years Day everybody’s keys stopped working because of separate reservations made in the booking system for 2019 vs 2020. The lady up front comped the espresso I ordered while they were sorting out my key. Little stuff like that makes it feel like I chose the right place! Location is great. A few minutes walk from all the action.
