Built in 1936 as a canteen for Dutch market traders, De Marktkantine has a dynamic history in music, theatre and food within Amsterdam. It was restructured in 1950 as a theatre and functioned as a club in the 90’s when the dance scene began to evolve in The Netherlands. After a period of vacancy a group of Amsterdam local entrepeneurs re-opened the venue in 2014. Recently renovated, the building itself maintains its historical essence with an artistic flair. This is in effort to continue the legacy of De Marktkantine as a creative combination of music, art, food and events. The 3000 square feet building offers an array of dance areas and stages. The big theatre room can fit roughly 1200 people, while the smaller room offers 300 visitors a more intimate setting. Conference & Convention Centres. Approx cost for two people Rs 1,800.

There are no words to describe how great that club was. Unfortunately when i got there I was on antibiotics... But I've never been to a club sober and still enjoy myself to the max and stay until the end. The DJ was amazing and the music touched my soul. The light show gets more and more complex and better, as the night progresses. The club supports up to 1500 people. Huge dance floor and right around the DJ. Balcony all around. Bars on each level. The friendliest staff. Now for tips: you can only pay by card, you can ask for tap water and it's free and the the bathroom is mixed gender, so, be prepared for that. Enjoy !!

Went twice and both times were a lot of fun. Clientele is nice and relax, there to dance and enjoy the music. Just do your research ahead of time to pick a night with music you'll enjoy.

Amazing venue with several different rooms and environments! There should be an area though with some fresh air for people to cool down... I was melting inside

Great place and party's. Only one miner I can think of is that it's always a bit to crowded to have some reasonable dancing space. But also means people like it there. Good vibe and people

It's a really nice venue with a good Soundsystem. But it was always crowded when I was there. A little bit to crowded. I would advise the management of De Marktkantine to sell fewer tickets so the people can enjoy more. None the less I had great times there
