Located in the heart of the Jordaan, the cultural centre of Amsterdam, Canal House is situated on the Keizersgracht (the King's Canal) and is comprised of three seventeenth century merchants' houses. Our Great Room is a beautiful spot to enjoy a leisurely afternoon relaxing, with views over the private garden. The bar at Canal House is both chic and stylish, and is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail or the famous Canal House G&T before heading out into the city. Our stunning private garden is perfect to enjoy a quiet drink in after a day shopping in the boutiques and galleries. Also in the garden are the Summer House and Garden House - both of which are available for private hire.

Great location for proximity to nice shops and restaurants. Lovely and attentive staff. Relaxing environment and beautifully appointed rooms with very comfortable bed and good pillows. The breakfast and coffee was great. I look forward to my return !

One star is too much! I won't tell you how housekeeping get treated. Management won't listen also on very serious stuff. A good place is not a nice place just because you can sleep, but how they treat people. Do not be fooled. Best regards.

This is an exceptional boutique hotel. The room I had was amazing, the space was laid out nicely and the bathtub and separate shower were both excellent. The view of the canal was lovely and it was located in a nice part of the city center giving you access to plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping. They also had a nice breakfast and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!

My room had no windows, it was close to the basement and the kitchen. The location is great and the rest of the hotel was fine but that room didnt worth it considering the high rates of the hotel. The employees were very kind and supportive.

Definitely, it is not one of Small Luxury Hotels And this is why. Rooms are not properly air conditioned. A receptionist told us that the reason behind is that the hotel is located in a historical building. There was unpleasant smell inside our room and it was not removed by a stationary conditioner. Some refurbishment is badly needed, our room looked «tired». Everything is combined here - the kitchen is combined with the restaurant, the reception is combined with the bar (not a cozy one, frankly speaking), and the shower stands open and is combined with the room. Not everyone likes this. Our room had a wall view (!) - not nice at all. There were mosquitoes during the night, not a pleasant experience either. The breakfast is scarce, only cold meals and drinks are included - one has to pay extra for a warm dish. Canal House boasts a very nice inner garden however, but very few guests have time to relax inside (with no drinks provided) during a short stay. Disappointed. No intention to come back.
