e Reiger is one of the oldest eateries in the Jordaan in Amsterdam. The atmospheric Café-restaurant in the Nieuwe Leliestraat is known for its old-fashioned hospitality and the Burgundian honesty of the food. It is not without reason that De Reiger received a 9- from Johannes Van Dam. The property is characterized by the authentic interior in combination with Art Deco and Jugendstil influences. Original lamps, old paintings, the high beamed ceiling and the L-shaped space of the building provide the perfect environment to enjoy the conviviality and hospitality that match our seasonal dishes. Reservations are not possible with us. Upon arrival, let the staff know that you are looking for a table, then they will ensure that if one becomes available, you will be assigned one. Dutch, Bar, European. Approx cost for two people Rs 900.

This has been my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam so far! We came at the recommendation of a colleague in the states whose sister lives here. I guarantee you will not be disappointed if you eat here! If I could rate it higher than 5 stars, I would! I had the spare ribs upon recommendation of one of our waiters, and then shared the chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert. Both excellent! The presentation of every dish I saw, was spectacular. We also had a nice bottle of Sangiovese wine that was very good. This place is in a nice neighborhood and the place itself is inviting and quite cozy. Our waiters were friendly and attentive.. I highly recommend De Reiger!

We have been in Amsterdam for a week. We have walked by this place several times. Had an awesome meal. What intrigued us is that it is a block from major tourist sites but incredibly low key. Sidewalk or inside. We had mussels and salmon. High quality. My advice is ditch those other tourists and have a wonderful low key meal.

Great little restaurant in the Jordan district! We sat outside, ate great food and drank tasty vino. The restaurant is not far from the tourist area and yet it feel you are eating like they locals do. I highly recommend it

De Reiger is one of the oldest cafes in Amsterdam. The restaurant is located just outside the Jordaan neighborhood. The three of us managed to snag a table without a reservation by arriving shortly after they opened for dinner.

Really good food, innovative, delicious and with plenty of options for vegetarians. Service is fast and friendly and the interior has a delightful old world charm. Highly recommended!
