Dutch cheese has more than 600 years long tradition and the names of different sorts of cheese are often taken from different cities in the Netherlands – Gouda, Edam, Leerdammer, Leyden, Maaslander, Maasdam and of course a gourmet Old Amsterdam. The European Community laws protect now some of these names as produced only in certain regions in the Netherlands (so called Protected Geographical Status), but most of Dutch names are in general use in the whole world to specify sorts of cheese also produced elsewhere.

This is a very nice place to visit in Amsterdam. Very close to the Anne Frank House. Downstairs there is a small museum about Cheese. You can take a picture of yourself (for free) wearing typical Dutch clothes. It is possible to print it for € 2,50! Great experience!

So many samples! Almost paid for a cheese experience but was told to go here instead. Glad I did. So many great options. Staff was so helpful and great to just talk to. They love their tourist customers and we love them! Museum is small down stairs. Bought great cheese here at great prices.

If you like cheese, you have to visit this place! If you don't like cheese, you should visit this place so you'll learn to love cheese. It's a beautiful little hole in the wall filled with cheese of all sorts, samples to taste the effects of the aging process, and varieties of spices. The staff is also extremely friendly and welcoming, definitely the highlight of this trip to Amsterdam.

Just perfect! Delicious! They let you try a wide variety of cheese before you check out and... The best is the entrance is free!

It's not exactly a museum. It's more a store, but a very good one. You can find different kind of cheeses.
