Indian restaurant, established in 1981, was one of the first Indian restaurants in Amsterdam. Our kitchen serves dishes originating from northern India in Punjabi style. Our cooks are Indian and our chef cook has been with us from the beginning. This is my 2nd visit to Akbar today. It’s just the best Indian restaurant in Amsterdam. I have been to every Indian restaurant but didn’t find any restaurant as good as Akbar restaurant. 10/10 for quality, taste, presentation, ambience, friendliness, location And price. The owner is such a lovely host. Thank you Akbar Indian restaurant

So good, we ate there twice! After an afternoon of coffee shops and beer, we ran across the Akbar. We walked in and were greeted by the staff, which were friendly and helpful. We ordered 5 dishes (there were 4 of us) and ate family style. The food was excellent, so much so, we went back 2 days later. Excellent food, excellent service!

Excellent food,great staff,lovely atmosphere We had dinner at Akbar Indian Restaurant and I must say it was to die for! Everything we ate was amazing and the presentation of the food was beautiful. The staff is very kind and prompt and it was a very clean,lovely atmosphere. The restaurant is in the center of the city and it was nice and quiet inside even though the place was full. I highly recommend it!!

Really nice dinner with friends. Lovely Indian food. Vegan alternatives wasn’t a struggle for the kitchen. We sat outside on a calm street, watching people. Inside the restaurant was clean and traditional. Lovely staff and excellent food.

What a Fantastic meal. Believe if you like Spicy but have a ceiling though, get it Madras. Going Vindaloo here is "literally" playing with fire. Great spices, as authentic as you could get. Lovely experience here.
